Tobias Forge has talked in interviews about the influences from Def Leppard that characterize the latest album and the admiration is mutual: Joe Elliott says in a press release that “Impera” was his favorite album from 2022.
“I found out that Tobias is a bit of a Def Leppard fan so I guess it was inevitable that we would bump into each other. Once we got used to the idea of working together, it just happened that I got to sing on my favorite song from that album. And I’m very happy about it!”
The album “Impera” was named rock album of the year at the American Music Awards and is nominated in the metal category at the American Grammy Awards.
“Impera” is Ghost’s fifth album and the songwriters include, for example, Jocke Berg, Peter Svensson, Max Grahn, Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare.
The new version of “Spillways” will be released on January 26.
