After the kidnapping alarm in southern Burgenland, the all-clear can be given: the incident is just a very unfortunate misunderstanding.

As reported, a woman wanted to get a child from the elementary school after-school care on Monday afternoon. She gave the child’s name and told her to take him with her. But the boy had been received by his mother shortly before. When she didn’t get the boy handed over, she drove away again in a white car. After numerous media reports, the lady’s husband finally contacted the police to clarify the incident. Name very similar Since the woman only spoke broken German and the children have a similar name, there was a misunderstanding.
