The young drug driver from the Kirchdorf an der Krems district was caught by the police during a routine check last Saturday: the officers noticed symptoms of drug abuse and asked the 27-year-old to see the public health officer. He determined that he was unfit to drive and the driver’s license was provisionally taken away.
Only four days later – on the very day on which the 27-year-old had personally received the notification of the driver’s license – he got behind the wheel of his car again under the influence of drugs.
A police patrol noticed him in his car on Wednesday afternoon and found him a little later at his home address. When he was checked, he showed symptoms of drugs. He refused a voluntary urine test and medical examination. He will be reported, the police said in the evening.
