Riot Games is a company that first became famous thanks to its first success, League of Legends. It wasn’t until 10 years later that they announced new games and one of them specifically became another hit and we mean VALORANT. However, the company is currently going through a hard time as they confirmed that their development systems had suffered an attack from a hacker. Although this affected the game servers in a minimal way, which went down for a few moments, some rumors indicated that data from player accounts had been leaked.
The information of Riot Games players would be safe after the attack
It was on January 20 when Riot Games confirmed through its official Twitter that its development servers were victims of a social engineering attack:
Earlier this week, systems in our development environment were compromised through a social engineering attack.

Since the attack was confirmed, players have been afraid that their information will be exposed, so Riot Games confirmed that user data has not been leaked:
We don’t have all the answers right now, but we wanted to get back to you as soon as possible and let you know that there is no indication that any player data or personal information was obtained.

As expected, this type of statement brought calm to the players of the different Riot Games titles. However, the company later confirmed that it was part of the base code for League of Legends and its other games. This will bring relevant consequences, since they will not be able to publish new content temporarily.
