Red Lions meet the Netherlands in the semi-final of the World Cup hockey, re-release of the 2018 final

The Red Lions (FIH-2) had beaten South Korea 5-0 in their first group match, the Netherlands (FIH-3) did the same with a goal against.

The Koreans surprised Argentina in the 1/8th finals, with their speed and fighting spirit they were able to keep pace with the Netherlands for a long time, until Koen Bijen broke the spell with the 1-0 in the 27th minute.

Just before the break, the match was startled by an impressive wound in the face of the German ref Koen Göntgen, who was hit by a deviated ball.

After the break, the Dutch quickly ran out: Koen Bijen (2-0) and Justen Blok (3-0) scored in the third quarter.

After an own goal forced by Stijn van Heijningen (4-0), South Korea came on the scoreboard. At the end of the match, Teun Beins recorded the final score.

Since the 2018 World Cup final, a thriller that ended 3-2 in the shoot-outs for our country after a 0-0, there has already been a duel of the low countries 9 times. The Netherlands won 6 times, Belgium 3 times.

The Belgians continue on a successful title defense course, in the quarterfinals they beat New Zealand 2-0 yesterday.
