The judgment of the E-mole process, which has as defendants the former legal advisor of Benfica Paulo Gonçalves and the court employees José Augusto Silva and Júlio Loureiro was postponed again this Wednesday to March 24.
About a year and four months after the start of the trial, on September 29, 2021, Benfica’s former legal adviser Paulo Gonçalves and court officials José Augusto Silva and Júlio Loureiro returned today to the Central Criminal Court in Lisbon, but it was not from this time that they heard the court’s decision.
For the fourth time, the reading of the judgment was postponed. It was scheduled for November 4, 2022 and was successively postponed to the 9th, 23rd and today, January 25th, having been postponed again.
The E-mole case dates back to 2018, when the Public Prosecutor’s Office accused the two court officials, Paulo Gonçalves and Benfica’s SAD, of various crimes. However, in December of that year, the instructional decision ended up not pronouncing the ‘incarnated’ SAD for trial.
