"Most Wanted" - Slovak Mafioso is in stone behind bars

The Slovakian “Most Wanted” Viliam M. is serving his 20-year sentence in the Krems-Stein prison. Countless criminal crimes are said to be on the 65-year-old’s list.

In July 2020, the handcuffs clicked for the heavy crusher Viliam M.! As he was strolling through Baden, he was arrested by investigators from the Federal Criminal Police Office. According to Slovakian media reports, the arrested man is a mafia-type criminal. In 2018, during his absence in Slovakia, he was convicted of incitement to murder and other crimes – 23 years in prison! Responsible for several murders, Viliam M. is said to have ordered an attack on his sister-in-law in 2009, among other things. A messenger brought the woman a package with an explosive charge to her company. The explosion killed the messenger, the sister-in-law and four other people were seriously injured. In total, he is said to be responsible for five murders, including the attack on mafia godfather Peter Congrady in Bratislava in 2004. He is even said to have his own nephew on his conscience. No extradition to Slovakia The extradition requested by Slovakia was declared inadmissible by the Viennese regional court for penalties. Because since 1989 Viliam M. has not only had Slovakian but also Austrian citizenship. The Viennese judiciary agreed to the execution of the sentence. However, the Austrian legal system differs from the Slovak one: Capital crimes are punished with a maximum of 20 years or life imprisonment. Accordingly, the sentenced 23 years were reduced to 20 years. He had repeatedly evaded arrest by leaving Slovakia for Venezuela and Belize in good time. A European Arrest Warrant was issued by the Slovak authorities after he had been sentenced to 23 years in prison in the last instance in a court case in Bratislava. This was carried out after indications that the wanted person had gone into hiding with a relative in Baden. Now Viliam M. is behind bars in the Krems-Stein prison.
