"Messi is the best dribbler of all time and Ronaldo can fly." The neural network could not choose the best

Neural networks are conquering news feeds and absorbing the digital space. At the beginning of the year, we played with midjourneyA that creates images based on a text query. By clicking on the link, you can see how cosmonaut Stanislav Cherchesov looks from the point of view of artificial intelligence, Alexander Ovechkin with a Hollywood smile, and Artemy Panarin with bread.

Now we have turned to ChatGPT – a neural network that threatens to leave almost all mental workers without work. She solves school homework, passes final exams and test assignments for hiring better than 80% of real people, and also writes program codes, stories and poems, draws, and perhaps does not sing. In general, we couldn’t get past such a toy and asked her the main question of the last 15 years, around which more than one army of couch troops was killed: who is better – Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi?

In fact, the question had to be formulated differently. Still, intelligence is still artificial, and it is difficult for him to make a choice. To see what happens, we split the question into two: “Why is Cristiano Ronaldo better than Leo Messi?” and “Why is Leo Messi better than Cristiano Ronaldo?”

And here’s what we got.

Question of “Soviet Sport”: Why is Cristiano Ronaldo better than Leo Messi?

Answer of the omniscient chatbot ChatGPT: “Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are considered among the greatest football players of all time. Both of them have won numerous individual awards and have achieved huge success with their respective clubs and national teams.

Ronaldo is known for his incredible work ethic, powerful and accurate shot, ability to fly and score goals in many ways. He is also a great leader and has a strong winning mentality. He has won several Ballon d’Or and Champions Leagues.

Messi, on the other hand, is known for his incredible ball control, his vision of the field, his ability to create chances for his teammates and score goals from tight spaces. He is also a great leader and is considered the best player in the world. He has also won several Ballons d’Or and Champions Leagues.

It is difficult to compare the two players as they have different playing styles and strengths, but many people consider Ronaldo to be the more accomplished player and Messi the more creative player. Ultimately, it’s a matter of personal preference as to who is considered the best.”

Oddly enough, if you ask the exact opposite question, the result will be almost identical. For the purity of the experiment, we publish it in full.

This is how the soulless machine left us the opportunity to continue the slaughter in social networks and in the press (hello Piers Morgan). It seems that no one can judge the disputants. At least in the short term. After all, even when there are programs that digitize and evaluate every action of two geniuses throughout their careers, they are unlikely to come to a consensus. And this is the beauty of football, which is not amenable to any mathematical analysis. Is not it?
