The “Kripi-Park” is located right next to the valley station of the Dachstein-Krippenstein cable car in Obertraun. A button lift and a people mover are available there for all children and ski beginners. In recent weeks, the area has been modernized by EUR 86,000 in a cooperation between the municipality of Obertraun, Dachstein Tourismus AG, the regional tourism association Dachstein-Salzkammergut and the state of Upper Austria. The more than 30-year-old conveyor belt, which was now prone to failure, was replaced with a new one. At the same time, a powerful, mobile snow gun was purchased.
“It’s important to us to keep things going for our smallest and youngest skiers in the valley,” said Obertraun’s mayor Egon Höll (SP) and DAG board member Rupert Schiefer in unison. The ski children’s area with the button lift and the new “magic carpet” is operated by the municipality of Obertraun together with volunteers and with the support of Dachstein Tourismus AG.
