Kim Kardashian has joined the group of famous clients of the favorite “star beautician”. Joanna Czech has worked with the Kardashian clan before. She also did face care for Anna Wintour, Cate Blanchett and Michelle Williams. For a 90-minute treatment in her salon you have to pay the equivalent of PLN 2,000. zlotys. Cosmetics are not much cheaper.

Kim Kardashian posted on Instagram a photo of a 30 ml cream jar with a Polish name on the label. Intrigued fans of the celebrity, who were not familiar with these luxurious cosmetics before, could find out that the creator of the brand is a Polish woman and it is her name that appears on the packaging. Who is Joanna Czech and how did it happen that she became a beautician valued among famous people?

Joanna Czech is a beautician. She was educated in Poland and the knowledge gained on the Vistula River gave her a good start in America. In 1989, she left for Chicago and joined the team of the Polish beauty magazine “À Propos”. She wrote beauty tips and did treatments.

“I decided to take advantage of the chance that fate gave me and try my luck on another continent. Even before leaving, I made an agreement with my partner that if I did not return to the country after a year, she would buy my shares in the company. In retrospect, I have the impression that I must have sensed with some seventh sense that America would open up many opportunities for me,” she said in an interview published on the “Block w basement” blog.

After two months, she moved to New York. She joined the exclusive Paul Labrecque Salon & Spa frequented by celebrities. In Manhattan, she not only worked as a beautician, but also dealt with manicures and pedicures (“I removed corns, ingrown nails”), she also did make-up. Her client at the time was the editor of “Vogue”, the famous Anna Wintour, who wrote a letter of recommendation. It was thanks to him that Joanna gained new clients and opened her own salon in Dallas.

The first known client of the new salon was the model Trish Goff, whose manicure and pedicure Joanna Czech did for the cover of “Vogue”.

“It was a great honor for me and my debut when it comes to working with the fashion bible team. At that time, I did not even dream that I would be involved in Vogue projects a few more times, and Anna Wintour would become my regular client. Life can be surprising!” she said.

Later, more famous people began to use her services: Kim Cattrall, Uma Thurman, Cate Blanchett, Christy Turlington, the Hilton sisters and the Kardashian clan. On the wave of success, Joanna opened a second salon in New York, which was attended, among others, by Jennifer Aniston, Michelle Williams and Carey Mulligan. She had a real friendship with many famous women.

“I’m very lucky with my clients – I’ve basically always gotten along great with them, and cooperation often turns into friendship. This was the case, e.g. with Kate Winslet, with whom we got in touch very quickly. I even lived in her house once. She asked me to move in with her while she was working in Europe. I remember that she was filming Polanski’s Carnage at the time. She didn’t want to leave the house unattended for six months – of course I agreed and stayed with Kate until she returned.”

Joanna Czech’s professionalism is appreciated not only by stars who entrust their faces to her hands, but also by luxury brands.

I also enjoy working with Kim Kardashian and her mom, Kris Jenner. These are really cool babes! During our sessions, I often tease Kimberly – I joke that during the treatments she is no longer KKW, but my client and she has to be obedient for the treatments to have the best results and I have to admit that her behavior is exemplary (laughs).”

The Polish woman was an advisor to the La Mer brand, and in 2019 she joined the group of Dior ambassadors. For a 90-minute treatment in her office you have to pay over PLN 2,000. gold, but the care method developed by Joanna, which combines Japanese massage techniques, herbal masks and the best ingredients, ensures a bright and rested complexion.

“The care I recently prescribed for her (Kim Kardashian – editorial note) improved the condition of her skin to such an extent that she asked for an additional set that she takes with her on trips” – she added.
