The listeners on the topic “Entrepreneur despite adverse circumstances” listened spellbound to the speaker’s explanations. Daniela Kranzlmüller (31) had traveled to countries in the Middle East for her doctoral thesis in recent years. In her lecture, she reported on courageous women from Afghanistan, Iran or Iraq who, despite terror and violence, had set up their own company. “For me, it’s about showing the positive in crisis regions. In these countries, too, there is everyday life away from the war.” The audience was impressed by the story about Laila Haidari. The Afghan activist runs a restaurant and finances a rehab clinic with the proceeds. Drug abuse is a problem in Afghanistan.
