Even before the broadcast of the 4th episode of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (DSDS), a candidate causes a stir. Jill Lange is a well-known reality star and now wants to start as a singer. However, the focus is less on her singing performance and much more on her sex life.
During the casting, the young woman had to put up with nasty tips about her sex life from juror Dieter Bohlen. With tears, the 22-year-old commented on social media about the personal attacks on her person. She accuses the pop titan of going below the belt. In an interview with this editor, Jill Lange describes how bad the situation really was for her.
DSDS: Does Dieter Bohlen go too far here?
Jill Lange went to the DSDS casting with high hopes. She wanted professional feedback from experienced artists on her voice. Instead, she first had to justify her appearances on various dating formats such as “Are you the One” or “Ex on the Beach”. When Pietro Lombard notes that in such shows, the candidates come very close to each other and repeatedly, Dieter Bohlen is shocked.
Expresses clearly that he doesn’t believe in such formats and asks the social work student: “Did you do anything normal? Or did you just graduate and get noodled?” In the episode, which can already be seen on RTL+, the 21-year-old tries to keep her composure, but on Instagram she bursts into tears shortly before the show is broadcast and raises serious allegations compared to the veteran of DSDS.
In an interview with this editor, Jill Lange makes it clear that the sexist statements are already a no-go, but the disparagement of her high school diploma hit her even harder: “For me personally, the high school diploma was very difficult because I lived in the home and meanwhile I moved into my first own apartment. For me, graduating from high school and going to school in general was one big struggle because I just didn’t have the strongest support. So for me, the Abitur was a huge success and I was very proud of it.”
Jill Lange does not want to be defeated
Even if Dieter Bohlen is known for his harsh criticism and loved by many fans, there are limits: “I think Dieter is happy to give opinions on the musical performance. For statements that go beyond that, he should generally be more careful and sensitive. He has already gone too far with many candidates, but many did not dare to rebel against it and to address exactly that.
So far, the pop titan has not commented specifically on the allegations, but he has let his fans speak for themselves via Instagram. “Don’t apologize! You’re absolutely right, but unfortunately you can’t express your opinion freely in Germany these days,” writes a fan, as can be seen in a screenshot of Bohlen’s message history. “If a person consciously presents himself sexually in several TV formats, then she doesn’t have to cry if someone addresses it,” it continues. The answer of the successful producer: “But something like that.” So even a few weeks after the incident, Dieter Bohlen does not think about having the wrong tone – let alone apologizing for his statements.
Even more news:
For a long time, however, Jill does not believe that her background had an influence on the evaluation of her singing performance. After the attack on her person, leaving DSDS voluntarily was never an option for her: “I didn’t stop because I didn’t let people like me take away my dream of singing and I generally never run away from problems, but myself and now I can even share some of my morality with other people,” she says.
You can see on Wednesday (January 25) at 8:15 p.m. on RTL whether Jill Lange made it into the recall. In addition, the episode can already be seen on RTL +.
