The Debanhi Escobar’s parents yesterday went to the offices of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in the Mexico Cityfrom where they said they left calm, but not satisfied.
More than nine months after his daughter disappeared on April 9, 2022, and days later it was found in the cistern of the Nueva Castilla Motel, they said they were confident that the investigation would finally be taken seriously, despite the fact that they still have no concrete progress.
“I’m leaving calm, (but) I’m not leaving satisfied,” said Mario Escobar after a three-hour meeting with federal agents, who took over the investigation.
“I I will go satisfied when I find the presumed culprits, the presumed murderers of our daughter”.
“It is important for us that they received us… Somehow, they leave us not satisfied, but calm that they started working on the folder.”
They explained that they met with officials who carry the federal investigation, that they received last December, and that they only told them that they are analyzing some samples that they recovered from the search of the Motel Nueva Castilla carried out on December 15, although they did not inform them if they were samples related to their daughter or to any other person.
“From the outset,” Escobar added, “they read us our rights… but our feelings would have to be recorded in the folder, we told them.
“Obviously it’s a very different folder to the one that the Prosecutor’s Office of Nuevo León carried. They start with the folder. I think it only goes one volume.”
His wife, Dolores Bazaldúa, also said entrusted with the promise that they will soon meet again at the FGR and recommended to the thousands of fathers and mothers of families looking for their daughters not to get tired.
