For an unknown reason, a 25-year-old from the Innviertel and a 32-year-old asylum seeker clashed. The younger is said to have torn the older to the ground. He hit his victim’s face and upper body several times with his fists.

A patrol from the Schärding city police, who happened to be patrolling the train station, intervened and ended the argument. The perpetrator tried to flee and resisted arrest with kicks and punches.

The 32-year-old and two city police officers were slightly injured in the incident. The 25-year-old is reported to the Ried public prosecutor, the police said on Wednesday evening.
