After so much waiting, on Monday, January 16, the series The Last of Us, inspired by the video game of the same name, premiered on the HBO Max platform. Although there are some changes with respect to the original material, viewers highlighted the fidelity it has to the history of the games. The butterfly effect arrived and that is that, from this premiere, the Naughty Dog titles are increasing their sales.
The Last of Us games increase their sales thanks to the series
A recent report from gamesindustri.biz revealed that the first video game of “The Last of Us” increased its sales by up to 238% in the United Kingdom alone. This reflects the success that the series is having and how it is generating the original title to be acquired. Even its remastered version for PlayStation 4 also increased by 322%.
Let’s remember that the original installment of the Naughty Dog video game came out more than 10 years ago, so having this sales figure is completely exorbitant and incredible. It is very likely that during the release of the other episodes, the sequel to the video game will also have an increase in sales, but perhaps not as striking.
Last Sunday the second episode of The Last of Us series premiered and, like the first, it was very well received. It will be interesting to see how they adapt to the other events of the video game and if it will continue to be as faithful as these first two chapters.
