General Director of the Ufa “Salavat Yulaev” Rinat Bashirov spoke about the new limit on legionnaires in the Continental Hockey League (KHL).

“Reducing the limit on foreign players is a significant step for the development of our club. As for Khmelevsky, he is not opposed to staying in Ufa, ” quotes Bashirov “Sport-Express”.

According to him, there will be many applicants for the goalkeepers of Salavat now.

“We have backup options. I admit that it will not be possible to agree with one of the goalkeepers. There will be no players in Salavat for 95 million rubles a year, ”concluded Bashirov.

The Ministry of Sports in December 2022 approved an updated limit on legionnaires, which will come into force from next season. Clubs will be allowed to register a maximum of three foreigners per season instead of five.

Salavat Yulaev is 6th in the Eastern Conference standings with 63 points.

Earlier in the first match after the appointment of Dmitry Kokorev, Sochi lost to Spartak.
