Telefónica agrees with the unions a salary increase of 7.8% for 2023

Employees of Telefonica Spain their salaries will increase by 7.8% in 2023. This has been agreed at the meeting held on Tuesday by the telecommunications company and the workers’ representatives.

Specifically, this percentage includes a 6.3% increase to comply with the provisions of the last collective agreement agreed between the company and unions and thus guarantee that the operator’s employees do not lose purchasing power after the rise in inflation in recent years.

The II Collective Agreement of the companies linked to Telefónica stipulates that the company had to review the salary tables as of January 1, 2023 if, as of December 31, 2022, the real accumulated Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 2019 to 2022 was higher than the increases agreed for the same period.

At this increase of 6.3%, The salary advance agreed for the current year will also be added (1.5%)which raises the increase in the remuneration of Telefónica employees for the year 2023 to 7.8%.
