The large number of applications received by the University of O’Higgins (UOH) currently maintains 25 of its 27 careers with a waiting list and almost 8,000 expectant students. The most significant case is the UOH Medicine degree, which obtained 2,069 effective applications in this process, selecting 70 students for enrollment and keeping 1,999 on the waiting list.
The careers with the most income this 2023 are Civil Engineering (170) and Nursing (150), followed by Commercial Engineering (130), Law (120), English Pedagogy (110) and Occupational Therapy (100).
“These figures are a sign of confidence from the regional and national community. The UOH was established six years ago, this is the seventh year that it has received students, and these numbers reflect the confidence that it sees real development options for the youth of our region in our academic offer. It is a great challenge to live up to what the country and the region demand of us, which is -definitely- to provide them with a quality educational offer, relevant and associated with their needs and those of the territory”, pointed out the academic vice-rector, Marcello Visconti .
In the case of the new careers of this 2023: Medical Technology obtained 503 applications and a call for 60 students to enroll; Kinesiology, 767 applications and 60 calls for registration; Nutrition and Dietetics, 501 applications and 60 calls for registration; and Accountant Auditor, 222 applications and 100 calls for registration.
In the case of the Colchagua Campus (San Fernando), of its three majors, Veterinary Medicine was the most chosen: 510 effective applications and 80 calls for enrollment.
It should be noted that in 2023 there were 8 maximum scores that decided to apply to the University of O’Higgins.
“To carry out this transcendental process in their lives, the students will be guided and accompanied by our UOH Admissions staff monitors, and by the officials and managers. Any question will be resolved by them, whether it is on step-by-step issues or, clarifying questions about what their future or classes will be like at the University of O’Higgins”, stated the director of Admission and Effective Access, Juan Manuel Solís.
In addition, they will have support in the application for scholarships and internal benefits of the University, through the guidance of monitors from the staff of the Directorate of Student Affairs (DAE).
Upon entering the Rancagua Campus, through the main entrance of building A, young people will find the Services Fair, made up of: TuPar UOH, Student Mobility, Mental Health Department, Sports Unit, Inclusion Unit, UOH Student Federation , Directorate of Information Technology Services, Libraries Unit, Directorate of Gender Equity and Diversities, UCampus and stand of the Institutional English Program.
