PSV again makes a painful slip, this time visiting Emmen

Ruud van Nistelrooij is not having the easiest weeks as PSV trainer. The team is still at the top of the ranking, but it is puzzling after the departure of Madueke and the failure of Luuk de Jong. And Fabio Silva is still waiting. Moreover, it has already dropped points several times in the Eredivisie in recent weeks.

That happened again on this midweek game day. Bernadou was able to give the home team the lead before half an hour with a good shot past everyone.

The fact that it was still 0-0 at the time was partly the fault of youngster Xavi Simons. He came alone in front of the goalkeeper early in the game, but destroyed that great chance.

After the 1-0, PSV had to fight back and our compatriot Johan Bakayoko also did his very best in attack, but in vain. Moreover, the team soon had to continue with 10 after red for Mauro Junior.

With one man less, the Eindhoven team didn’t really threaten anymore and so the points stayed in Emmen. Yorbe Vertessen, who was allowed to come in for a few more minutes, was also unable to change that.
