As a result of Ukrainian shelling of the Belgorod region, 25 civilians were killed and another 96 were injured. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said this during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Ukraine, the enemy, is shelling peaceful settlements. We have 25 people killed and 96 people injured,” Then24 reports Gladkov’s words.

The governor stressed that the families of the dead and wounded civilians receive material assistance from the authorities of the region in the same amount as the families of military personnel.

“We made a decision from the beginning that in the event of a moderate or severe injury, 500,000 [рублей] we pay, if the most difficult thing happens, when it dies, then we pay three million rubles. And we extended these same decisions to civilians. We pay the same amounts from the budget as to military personnel,” Gladkov said.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the border settlements of the Belgorod region have been shelled almost daily. In the fall of 2022, the governor spoke about the construction due to the tense situation in the border areas.
