On the one hand, it is about information technology education, such as “How computers work”, “The binary system” or “The history of the computer”, on the other hand children from eight to ten years also learn central aspects of media education, such as “Internet yes, but safe”, ” Fake News” or “How does the Internet work?”.
Early digital education
The background is that early digital education facilitates later development in this area. This is not only a prerequisite for successful participation in social life, but also a measure for the city of Linz to deal with the “daily increasing” shortage of IT specialists. The project is being carried out by the City of Linz in cooperation with the programming school acodemy, with the Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich covering the costs.
