Cuca Gamarra charges Sánchez for the law of 'only yes is yes': "your feminism is a lie"

The number two of the PP, Cuca Gamarrahas charged hard against Pedro Sanchez for his refusal to correct the law of only yes is yes, whose entry into force has led to the reduction of more than two hundred sentences for sexual offenders and rapists. For this reason, he has blurted out to the President of the Government that “your feminism is a lie“.

During the extraordinary plenary session held this Tuesday at the request of Sánchez to report on the last European Council, among other matters, the also spokesperson for the popular in Congress has called for a great agreement between the parliamentary groups to modify the star rule of Irene Montero. “If this government has failed the victims, Parliament should not.”

Much of his initial intervention has revolved around this issue. “Not only have they not asked for forgiveness, but we have seen how members of their government joke about the pain of the victims, that is unacceptable,” Gamarra reproached Sánchez, alluding to the laughter of the Secretary of State for Equality, Angela Rodriguez Pam.

The general secretary of the PP has regretted that the leader of the Executive has put his foot on the accelerator in recent months to “make the Penal Code tailored to its pro-independence partners” and not to reverse the “nefarious” effects of the law of only yes is yes.

In this context, he stated that Spanish society asks Pedro Sánchez to “act and rectify”. While, on the other hand, he has transferred his support to “victims of gender violence, who see how the aggressors benefit from reduced sentences or are released from prison.”

sedition and embezzlement

If Sánchez’s intention was to erase from the political agenda at the start of the year the most controversial chapters of the legislature, such as the repeal of the crime of sedition or the embezzlement reform, that of the main opposition party is exactly the opposite.

Thus we have seen this Tuesday Cuca Gamarra put the emphasis above all on the transfers of the Government to the independence movement. “You are taking advantage of the law to prop up power and not to make a better country”has censored.

According to number two of Feijóo, the consequences of the government reforms are “reductions in sentences for the corrupt.” For this reason, he has reproached Sánchez: “You intend to humiliate the truth and pay tribute to the lie. Instead of recovering the crime of illegal referendum, to which you committed, you guarantee ERC that there will be one after the elections” .

At one point, the president of Congress, Meritxell Batethas asked the popular leader that her intervention be limited to the European Council and not to other issues.

For this reason, Gamarra has made Sánchez ugly that “criminals benefit from the changes to the Penal Code” and instead of strengthening the State and the victims, turn it into a “checkbook” to pay their political mortgages with a reform that “violates the European Law” and that the EU will examine with a “magnifying glass”.

On the embezzlement reform, he has called on the president to affirm that there will be no downward revision of penalties for the corrupt. And he sarcastically asked if he will resign if there are any: “Is he capable of committing or does not put his hand in the fire or by Pedro Sánchez?”.

Already in the economic field, the popular spokesperson has asked Sánchez to “put himself in the shoes of the middle classes”, since he has vindicated his party’s request to lower VAT on meat, fish and preserves. “This is about the Spanish, not about their survival,” she remarked.

Gamarra has also referred to the recent controversy over the shipment of tanks to Ukraine by asserting that the government is “more concerned with appeasing Putin than arming the Ukrainians.” Along these lines, he has summoned you to authorize the sending of tanks.
