At least three people died Tuesday in a shooting in the US state of Washington, a new tragedy after two mass murders in California in the last three days.
The shooting took place around 03:30 local time (11:30 am in Lisbon) near a grocery store in Yakima, a city of about 97,000 inhabitants, a two-hour drive from Seattle.
THE suspect is on the run and “represents a danger to the population”explained to the press the official Matt Murray, adding that at the scene the agents “found three dead people”.
“It seemed to come out of nowhere, there was no apparent conflict between people,” Murray said.
According to witnesses on the spot, the man entered the supermarket and started shooting.
“Then he left the store and shot a victim, before crossing the street and shooting someone else, apparently,” the officer summarized.
The suspect, a 21-year-old man named Jarid Haddock, stole a car to get away.
On Twitter, Yakima Police reiterated their calls for caution from the public: “Do not approach him. The suspect is armed and is considered dangerous”.
