Almeida visits the works of the M-30MS

The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeidahas announced this Friday that the traffic that currently runs through a provisional diversion in the Mahou-Caldern area will be restored to its final route at dawn on Sunday, November 27, to Monday, the 28th.

Almeida has advanced it in a visit, according to what Efe has collected, together with the delegate of Works and Equipment, dove garca romeroand the councilor of Arganzuela, Cayetana Hernndez de la Rivato the works to cover the ring road, which began in September 2020 and represent a municipal investment of 52.7 million euros.

The restitution of traffic is a milestone in these works that puts an end to the provisional diversion -which will be part of the area park- which came into operation when the old Vicente Calderón stadium was demolished.

From now on, the covering project, which is on schedule and will end next spring, will focus on completing the civil works and connecting and integrating the new facilities into the control system of the rest of the tunnels that make up the M -30.

As the civil works of covering are finished, the urbanization works of the area, not included in this project, will already be executed by the compensation board of the area, They may begin in coordination with those for the completion of the underground infrastructure.

historic urban divide

The covering works for the M-30 as it passes through the Mahou-Caldern area will put an end to a historic urban gap in the area and complete the Madrid Río park, completing the environmental, pedestrian and landscape continuity of one of the most important urban transformation projects in the city in this century.

To do this, the City Council faces the final stretch of the construction of the structure of 620 meters in length and 40 meters in width that will lead to the improvement of the safety of the road and the air quality in the area.

As for the tunnel façade, be formed by a cloth of granite and articulate with the river through a green slope in which trees and vegetation will be planted to integrate it with the surrounding landscape
