This Thursday, Switzerland beat Cameroon by 1-0, at the Al Janoub Stadium, in the opening day of Group G of the World Cup in Qatar.

Cameroon were the most dangerous team in the first half, when they hit the opposing goal twice. Switzerland failed to trouble the African goalkeeper.

In the second half, it was the Swiss team that prevailed and reached the advantage. In the 48th minute, the Swiss Breel Embolo scored the only goal of the match – the striker’s first in World Cups -, with an assist from Xherdan Shaqiri.

Switzerland, with Haris Seferovic entering the second half, started to win in their fifth consecutive World Cup appearance. Cameroon, with former Porto player Vincent Aboubakar as a substitute, started to lose in its eighth appearance in the World Cup.
