The Leftovers

The first season of The Leftovers begins three years after an event called “Sudden Departure”, this caused the inexplicable simultaneous disappearance of 140 million people, 2% of the world population. Following these events, the major religions lost power and various cults arose. Prominent among these is a cult led by Holy Wayne, a man who sees himself as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

This series has drama, a lot of suspense and makes you wonder where did all these people go? Above all, we are intrigued by the fact that the “game” did not respect age, sex, religion or race, but that it swept evenly. There in an episode of the first season there are some clues as to why these people were the “chosen” for whatever caused the event, let’s see if you catch them!

true detective

This is one of the most acclaimed series of HBO, especially the first season, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. The plot takes place in the southern United States and follows a pair of Louisiana State Police detectives as they search for a serial killer for 17 years. The end of each chapter will leave you with your mouth open and wanting to see more. Over there in the fourth episode there is a six-minute sequence recorded in one takewhich is phenomenal.

The second and third seasons no longer follow the same protagonists, nor even the same story, but they are still great. The second season is set in California and focuses on three detectives investigating the murder of a corrupt politician. The third season follows a pair of Arkansas State Police detectives who investigate a crime involving two missing children.

Mad Men

This hit series follows the lives of some men and women who work at an advertising agency in New York in the 1960s. Although their company is initially successful, the advertising business becomes more competitive as the industry develops. Because of this, the agency must adapt to ensure its survival. The central story follows Don Draper, a genius for publicity, but whose work and family life are compromised by his excesses.

Whether you are godin or not, this series is going to make you identify with many of the situations that the protagonists experience, and you will find it difficult to continue supporting the main protagonist after learning about his actions and motives. But who are we to judge?

Big Little Lies

Starring a luxury cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoë Kravitz, this series follows five women in Monterey, California, who find themselves involved in in a murder investigation. The mystery doesn’t stop growing with each episode, and it’s going to have you on the edge of your seat.

And it gets better, for the second season Meryl Streep arrives as the mother of the victim. She seeks answers about what happened to her son, which brings consequences in the lives of the protagonists, as well as the development of their friendship. Big Little Lies is one of those series that gets better as it goes along.

Sharp Objects

In Sharp Objects, reporter Camille Preaker, played by Amy Adams, he returns to his hometown to investigate the murders of two girls. Arriving at his childhood home, he finds himself once again under the critical eye of his mother (oh no). As if that were not enough, Camille She suffers from alcoholism and was just released from a psychiatric hospital, all these events will make her face her personal demons.

In this miniseries we are going to see three generations of women deal with all kinds of dramas, each in their own way, although it is not always the best. The three of them and their toxic relationships (among themselves and with other people) are going to have you very emotional. while discovering more and more secrets.
