Group H kicks off World Cup action with Uruguay – South Korea. But even before the game started, the many football fans were amazed.
Seeing South Korea’s line-up against Uruguay, they are more than amazed.
Uruguay-South Korea: Wrong line-up
The South Koreans are going into the first game of this 2022 World Cup with Tottenham star Heung-min Son. The winger was questionable for a long time because he had undergone surgery after breaking his eye socket several times. Son, once active at Hamburger SV and Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, will therefore have to wear a mask in the opening game.
Lineups Uruguay – South Korea:
Uruguay: Rochet – Caceres, Giménez, Godín, Olivera – Valverde, Vecino, Bentancur – Pellistri, Suárez, Núñez
South Korea: Kim-Kim, Kim, Kim, Kim-Hwang, Jung-Son, Lee, Na-Hwang
Then, when football fans saw the rest of the South Korean line-up, they lost their faith. Four players with the same last name play in defense. Moon-hwan Kim, Min-jae Kim, Young-gwon Kim and Jin-su Kim.
But not only the four defenders have Kim as their last name. Goalkeeper Seung-gyu Kim also joins the ranks.
Uruguay – South Korea: fans surprised
You don’t see a lineup like this very often. The fans in the social networks were all the more amazed when they got wind of it. “What is that? They all have the same last name. That’s crazy!”, “I’m curious how the referee wants to remember that for cards” and “You don’t want to be a commentator today when five players are called Kim,” the fans write on Twitter, among other things.
Group H with South Korea and Uruguay should be one of the most exciting at this 2022 World Cup. Although Portugal and Uruguay are considered favorites to advance, South Korea and Ghana are good for surprises. Who will then move into the round of 16 will be revealed next week when the remaining group games are completed.
