Because unexpected road damage occurred on the Mattseer Landesstraße after the Lengfelden roundabout in Elixhausen, the L101 is currently only one-lane. It is not yet clear how long the restriction will last.
After a bridge over the Fischach, parts of the edge of the road have slipped over a length of around 50 meters. “We don’t yet know exactly what caused it. But it could be related to an excavation pit nearby – although this is secured and accompanied by a construction geologist,” reports state geologist Rainer Braunstingl. “To be on the safe side, the rock will be ‘nailed’ under the road at this point – anchors and shotcrete will be inserted for attachment,” adds Braunstingl. It is not yet clear how long the construction work will take. According to the country, this depends on the availability of the necessary machines.
