Hempempont’s house is destroyed but its ghosts still haunt the inhabitants of the town…

History still sends shivers down the spine to the inhabitants of Villeneuve d’Ascq who know urban legends, yet the house in Hempempont was destroyed several years ago, in 2015. It must be said that many things have happened. allegedly took place in this famous residence, and that the murky past that seemed to surround the house marked more than one family. It all started during the Second World War, when the family established in this house with Hitchcockian architecture in the middle of the fields lost their 5-year-old little boy. The child, according to legend, would be suddenly died without explanation. And it is his presence that has haunted the walls of the famous house in Hempempont ever since. The following owners have indeed been numerous to testify to unexplained noises in the corridors, in particular footsteps or children’s laughter…

To add to this ghost story, another morbid event would have taken place several years later. The stories say that three male tenants of the haunted house would have hanged in the room where the first owners’ child had died. Enough to fuel scary rumors that have only added to the aura of mystery surrounding this house of horror. Subsequently, different owners succeeded without succeeding in really restoring this grandiose residence. Some say that when the workers advanced on a large site to renovate it, they discovered their advancements completely undone the next day.

The calm before the fire

Joke of people wishing to maintain the mystery or real paranormal presence, the house of Hempempont was the scene of strange events until 2006, when Pastor Emmanuel Kamondji transformed the building into an evangelist church. Everything then went well until 2014 – prompting supernatural fans to say that the presence of God and his believers had repelled evil – when a fire broke out in the house. But this new disaster actually hid a burglary whose culprits have been arrested. Following the fire which greatly weakened the foundations of the building, the house of horror had to be destroyed, taking all its secrets with it…
