The FSB said it prevented a sabotage attempt on the South Stream gas pipeline, which supplies supplies to Turkey and southern Europe.

According to the department, the Ukrainian special services were behind the attempted “sabotage and terrorist act”.

The FSB reports that it allegedly detained four Russian citizens, who were seized four mines, four kilograms of explosives, money and communications equipment.

The department’s investigative department opened a criminal case under articles on preparing for a terrorist attack, organizing a terrorist community and illegal possession of explosives.

In September, the FSB announced the prevention of a “sabotage and terrorist act” on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline. According to the department, the undermining was going to be carried out by a Russian who was “recruited on the territory of Ukraine by the SBU.”

At the end of September, it became known about leaks on three of the four strings of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. The authorities of the EU countries said that intentional explosions were the cause of the leaks. Who is behind the incident is unknown. Vladimir Putin said that “Anglo-Saxons” were involved in the incident.
