Elena Zyablova, deputy chief physician of the Budu online health management service, expressed the opinion that Russians are self-medicating rather than going to doctors, including because of the free sale of medicines in Russia.

First of all, people are not ready to waste time, she said in an interview with life.ru. For many, visiting doctors is associated with a long wait in line and time spent on the road. Also, many patients do not trust doctors.

“A large number of medicines are sold with us without a prescription, respectively, the patient can freely purchase medicines at his own discretion or on the recommendation of relatives,” Zyablova added.

Previously NSN reported that Moscow expanded the functionality of electronic medical records. Now the results of CT and MRI studies from city medical institutions, private and federal clinics are available there.
