The Moskvich plant has restarted mass production of passenger cars, reports Interfax.

The first model put on the conveyor was Moskvich 3 – in fact, this is a version of the Chinese JAC JS4 under a new brand. Its sales are planned to start at the end of the year.

The launch ceremony was attended by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

As before reportedby the end of the year it is planned to produce 600 cars.

Previously, the Moscow Automobile Plant belonged to Renault. After the start of the war in Ukraine, the company announced its withdrawal from the Russian market and donated the plant to the state.

In the summer, the Kamaz company, participating in the restart of Moskvich, informedthat under this brand it is planned to produce five models: four crossovers and one sedan.
