You are currently viewing Prosecutor closes investigation against CAM leader, Héctor Llaitul, and prepares to prepare accusation

Within the framework of a hearing in the Temuco Guarantee Court, the Prosecutor’s Office closed this Wednesday the investigation against the leader of the Coordinadora Arauco Malleco (CAM), Hector Llaitul, by the State Security Law. The Public Ministry has 10 days to prepare the accusation.

The prosecuting body charges Llaitul with one crime of incitement to violence, two of apology for violence, two of usurpation and another two of attacks on authority.

According to Bio Bio Radio, at the beginning of the hearing, Llaitul’s defender withdrew the request for dismissal. In turn, he warned the Prosecutor’s Office to close the investigations. In this regard, the prosecutor Hector Leiva reported the end of the investigation.

The period of the investigations had already concluded, but the Public Ministry was not obliged to close the process, unless it had been warned.

Let us remember that personnel from the Investigative Police (PDI) arrested the leader of the CAM on August 24, in the commune of Cañete.
