Pep Guardiola has signed a new contract with the Manchester City that will keep you in the club premier league until 2025.

The Spanish coach’s current contract expired at the end of the season, but he has committed to play two more years at the Etihad Stadium.

guardiola joined to City in 2016 and has overseen the most successful period in the club’s history, winning four league titles and nine major trophies in total. But so far he has not managed to win the Champions League with City.

The extension will take time with the current champion of the premier league to nine years, which far exceeds any of his previous coaching jobs.

guardiola spent four seasons in the Barcelona and three in the Bayern Munich.

“I can’t thank everyone at the club enough for putting their trust in me,” he said on Wednesday. “From the first day I felt something special being here. I can’t be in a better place.

“I still have the feeling that we can achieve more together and that’s why I want to stay and keep fighting for trophies.”

guardiola has taken charge of 374 matches in the Citywhich is only surpassed by Les McDowall (587) on the list of the club’s post-war managers.

“He has already contributed so much to the success and structure of this organization, and it is exciting to think what could be possible given the energy, hunger and ambition that he clearly still has,” said President Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

“Under his very special leadership, our first team has achieved much, while continually playing and constantly evolving, a style of city football that is admired around the world. Like all City fans, I look forward to what lies ahead.”
