The ‘Black Adam’ star dwayne johnson, believes that there is no possible competition between his DC Universe movie and Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. In response to a post from IGN noting the latest box office numbers for the Ryan Coogler movie on Twitter, the actor believes that it is not fair to compare both films.

“It is not necessary to give us firewood”

Johnson joked about the fairness of the publication saying that his franchise “needs to grow.”

“Go post neutral. I love to compete, but, IGN, you are in business with us, there is no competition possible with the established global brand of ‘Black Panther’ compared to Black Adam and JSA, who a year ago nobody I had heard of. There is no need to beat us, we are new babies and we have to grow up”

Almost two weeks after its theatrical release, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ has amassed $546 million worldwidemaking it the eighth highest-grossing film of 2022. Meanwhile, ‘Black Adam’ boasts a global box office gross of 366 million since its debut on October 1, ranking 12th this year, although it has been a success financial and critical

‘Black Adam’ features a notable cameo from Henry Cavill, in his long-awaited return as Superman. Considering its success in its first few weeks, many fans are wondering if a sequel is possible. While Warner Bros. Discovery has yet to formally greenlight a new movie, this one is expected to further expand the DCU.
