From next summer, Red Bull Salzburg will be cooperating with Bergheim. A girls’ academy is to be set up over the next few years.

It’s been a long wait, and now it’s becoming reality: Red Bull Salzburg is getting into women’s football. From next summer, the Bulls will be cooperating with FC Bergheim, whose first team is active in the women’s Bundesliga. The focus – as in the men’s division – is clearly on youth work. From the 2023/24 season, a U16 team will wear Bulls jerseys, and the home games are to take place in Bergheim. The following season, a U20 should be founded, which should compete together with the 1b of the Flachgauer in the women’s Future League. Over the next few years, those responsible want to set up a girls’ academy, provide players with the “Red Bull DNA” and develop it.
