Charleroi punishes its own fans after misconduct against KV Mechelen

The group Black & White Storm Ultras will not be allowed to attend the next 2 home matches and the next 3 away matches of Sporting Charleroi. It’s about 100 to 120 fans. In total, the supporters group consists of about 500 people.

On November 12, the game between Charleroi and KV Mechelen, on the 17th matchday of the Jupiler Pro League, was definitively stopped in the 67th minute after supporters of the home team pelted the field with fireworks a third time. In the 1st half, the game was already stopped 2 times. Charleroi led 1-0 at the time of final stoppage.

Lorin Parys, the CEO of the Pro League, already indicated that Sporting Charleroi can expect a fine of 50,000 euros from the Pro League and disciplinary sanctions from the Belgian Football Association (RBFA).

Usually, a club responsible for a permanent abandonment of a match is punished with a forfeit defeat. There may also be one or more games behind closed doors.
