Youssoufa Moukoko’s future is still unclear. The 18-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and so far he has not accepted the offer to extend his working paper at BVB.
Many fans had therefore hoped that Youssoufa Moukoko would extend his contract as soon as he turned 18. However, this day fell on the first official day of the 2022 World Cup, so there was no signature. The player himself has now made it clear that this will not happen in the next few days either.
Youssoufa Moukoko: “We’re not at BVB here”
“We’re not with BVB here, we’re with the national team – at a World Cup,” the player himself commented on the question of a contract extension at a national team press conference.
“I’ll make up my mind in the end anyway. I feel good in Dortmund, I can feel the coach’s trust and in the end you’ll find out whether I’m staying or not,” Moukoko added later. In his first 22 games for BVB this season, the striker has scored six goals and provided six assists.
Youssoufa Moukoko: That’s where the deal comes in
According to “Sky”, the deal is currently tied to the 18-year-old’s salary requirements. While BVB offers more than five million euros per year, Moukoko demands more than six million euros per year. Furthermore, the young star would also like to be shown a perspective at the club when Sebastien Haller is back as the actual number one in the storm.
According to the pay station, the current trend is clearly towards a contract extension. However, the final decision on this should not be made until after the World Cup. According to “Sky”, however, one thing should be clear: there is nothing to be said for a change to Bayern.
