It’s gotten really cold. But that doesn’t matter: In an interview, Guido Maria Kretschmer revealed to us which pieces of clothing keep you nice and warm in winter.

Hot-water bottles, seed pillows, candles – people have collected all kinds of tools these days to keep warm on cold days. This year in particular, people think twice about turning the heating on to three or whether they should dress in three layers.

A Guido Maria Kretschmer also knows the problem. In addition to the trend part of the season, he recommends a particularly thick sweater that provides lasting warmth. Even the designer himself has been wearing it for years: “I’ve had a sturdy Norwegian sweater for a long time, brought back from Oslo. I always wear it in winter,” he tells us in an interview.

So a good Norwegian sweater never goes out of style, especially if it’s made of good material. Here Guido recommends: it is better to invest in quality than to constantly buy more. He himself likes to tweak something on the good piece instead of exchanging it straight away.

Guido’s upcycling tip

Which brings us to the problem of many thick wool jumpers: no matter how warm they may be, they sometimes scratch terribly! The otherwise beloved turtleneck quickly becomes the enemy. Don’t worry, Guido Maria Kretschmer also has advice for this – because he himself has made his Norwegian sweater a little more comfortable: “I sewed a cashmere collar on top, it was a bit hard for me, now I wear it a lot gladly.”

The same applies to the wrists, by the way: if you are sensitive to certain materials, sweaters can be reinforced there with a light layer of cotton to make them more comfortable to wear on the skin. But wrist warmers are also wonderful here, which according to Guido are already trendy this year.

So this year we are still dressed warmly and fashionably through the winter. Thank you Guido for the everyday tip!
