“The Ukrainian side has long been at war with the Russian Orthodox Church. I would say that this should be considered as another link in the chain of these military actions against Russian Orthodoxy, ”said the Kremlin spokesman.
Earlier, the media reported that the SBU was conducting a search on the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
After that, the SBU confirmed that it was carrying out “counterintelligence activities” on the territory of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
They noted that the events are being held to “prevent the use of the Lavra as a cell of the Russian world.”
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ expressed hope for the preservation of the unity of the Orthodox people of Russia and Ukraine.
