Nicolas Colsaerts is one of the vice-captains of the European Ryder Cup team for 2023

The traditional meeting between a select group of American and European golfers will take place next year in Rome from September 26 to October 1.

Nicolas Colsaerts was already there at the Ryder Cup in 2012. As a player, he played an important part in the victory of the European team against the United States.

Now Colsaerts can prepare for a new Ryder Cup adventure. This time not as a player, but in a supporting role as vice captain. Colsaerts was picked by Luke Donald, one of his teammates from the 2012 winning team.

“Every time I hear the words ‘Ryder Cup’, I think of the edition I participated in and how proud I was to defend the European colors and take part in that incredible event,” Colsaerts said.

“Being vice-captain means playing a different role than as a player, but nevertheless my mission in 2023 is the same as in 2012, which is to contribute to the team in any way I can.”

Captain Luke Donald is also pleased with Colsaerts in his team. “I’ve always admired how much the Ryder Cup means to you,” he addresses the Belgian on Twitter. “Thank you for joining me on this adventure. I am very happy that you are part of the team.”
