The “Council of Mothers and Wives” – a social movement of relatives of mobilized and conscripts who demand the return of their loved ones from the front – invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold an open meeting.
Video message with such an appeal wrote down Council organizer Olga Tsukanova after it became known that Putin would hold a meeting with the mothers of servicemen. None of the representatives of the “Council of Mothers and Wives” for this meeting not invited.
Olga Tsukanova said in her appeal that the president was going to hold a meeting with “pocket mothers” to demonstrate that the authorities are responding to the appeals of relatives of the mobilized.

About the “Council of Mothers and Wives”
Newspaper “Vedomosti” reported in a November 22 issue that, according to sources close to the presidential administration, Putin will meet with the mothers of the Russian military this week, the meeting will be timed to coincide with Mother’s Day, which is celebrated on November 27. One of the sources of the publication said that the president will not ignore “the topic of hostilities in which military personnel are involved.” Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov confirmedthat the Kremlin is preparing a meeting between Putin and the mothers of Russian servicemen.
Executive Secretary of the Union of Committees of Soldiers’ Mothers Valentina Melnikova reported publication “Layout” that representatives of the human rights organization were not invited to a meeting with Putin. “If they call, we will think. What should we talk about with Putin? We are a peacekeeping organization,” Melnikova said.
An unnamed source close to the Kremlin said that the Russian authorities are allegedly discussing the possibility of creating an alternative, patriotic movement of mothers of military personnel. Other sources did not confirm this.
Since the end of October, relatives of mobilized Russians in 15 regions of the country went out to protests, demanding that their loved ones be removed from the front line and provided with everything necessary.
