Roskomnadzor has nothing to do with cases of censoring the word “war” on entertainment TV channels, Vadim Subbotin, deputy head of the department, said.
As follows from the Then24 publication, the official was asked about cases of censorship of the song “Everything is decided” performed by the singer Zivert in the recently released “Battle of Generations” program on Muz-TV, as well as songs “How not to be milk” by the Synecdocha Montauk group in the New Dances program on TNT.
Roskomnadzor has nothing to do with this. We sometimes take preventive measures, but not in this case. We do not have a list of prohibited words, except for those that cannot be mentioned in the media – they refer to obscenities.
Representatives of TV channels did not comment on the decision to silence the word “war”.
After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the use of the word “war” by journalists (instead of the official wording “special military operation”) was among the reasons for pressuring and blocking the media. Citizens participating in anti-war protests are persecuted, among other things, for insinuating the slogan “no war” (here are two examples).
