The senior official came to participate in the nineteenth meeting of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Species Wild Fauna and Flora Threatened (CITES/COP19), this November 21 and 22.

The US delegation is headed by Department of the Interior and includes experts from the Fish and Wildlife Service, the Department of State and various interagency partners, such as USAID.
During her visit to Panama, Assistant Secretary Medina will also participate in the Fourth Global Meeting of Life Law Enforcement Networks Silvestre, a series of events and instances of dialogue oriented to improve controls related to international trade in threatened and endangered species.
