Vanessathe 14-year-old Spanish girl murdered in France, is from Granada, where her parents are trying to repatriate her body.
According to the French newspaper Le Parisien, his parents are of Peruvian origin who emigrated to Spain, where they settled in Granada. A year ago, they went to Tonneis, a small French town of 9,000 inhabitants located between Bordeaux and Toulouse, in the South of France, where Vanessa has been raped and murdered by Romain C.31 years old, according to his own confession.
Vanessa’s family is of humble origin and limited resources, which is why several initiatives have been launched to help them raise funds and be able to bury Vanessa in Granada. Thus, the association La Mouettean association that helps missing minors and victims of sexual abuse and other crimes and who is assisting parents, has announced that it will help them repatriate their daughter’s remains to Granada by launching a fundraiser. “They want their daughter to be buried there, in Granada,” the president of La Mouette told the media, Annie Gourguewho explained that the family is inin a precarious situation and that he does not speak French. “These people came to our country in search of a better life and they are faced with horror.”
The parents learned of their daughter’s death last Friday when they were at the gendarmerie waiting for news after reporting her disappearance. Vanessa’s mother in extreme shock, had to be hospitalized.
Likewise, the Tonneins BMX cycling club, to which one of Vanessa’s brothers belongs – she has two – has organized a campaign to raise money. “Following the events that occurred in the town of Tonneins on November 18, 2022, the Tonneins BMX club decided to help the family of our little pilot, Vanessa’s brother, who tragically disappeared. The Tonneins BMX family, moved in the sweetheart, is organizing this collection to help Vanessa’s parents with funeral expenses.
Recently arrived in France, their parents, isolated, need this wave of solidarity from all of us to overcome this terrible ordeal,” the club appeals on its Facebook page.
At the initiative of the Tonneins town hall and the aforementioned La Moutte association, next Friday at 5:00 p.m. it will be held in memory of Vanessa a “white march” from the school where she was studying and from whose exit she was kidnapped to the town hall, close to the family’s home. “Come in white or with a white flower. To be for Vanessa, to tell her family that we cannot handle her pain, but we can share it,” asked the president of La Mouette.
Romain C., 31, was charged this Sunday with “kidnapping and forced confinement” and “rape and murder of a minor under 15 years of age” and sent to prison. “I know why you are here”, he told the gendarmes who went to his home in the town of Marmande on Friday at 10:45 p.m., four hours after the disappearance of the minor. Romain had been identified by Tonneins surveillance cameras when he was prowling the minor’s school in search of a victim.
According to his confession, he acted on impulse and chose Vanessa at random. Romain lived with a partner and had just had a baby. He had a history of sexual assault when he was 15 years old.
