Psychologist and coach, member of the Association for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy Tatyana Petukhova, in an interview with RT, spoke about the symptoms that signal the need to visit a psychologist.
As the expert emphasized, anxiety symptoms include severe experiences and conditions accompanied by obsessive thoughts, disturbed sleep and appetite, apathy, feelings of guilt and shame, fears, panic attacks, feelings of helplessness, excessive concern about appearance, as well as disruption of work processes.
“Shifting responsibility from oneself to others, difficulty in making decisions, avoiding a specific situation, inability to build relationships with others, frequent desire to change the situation,” the specialist said.
It is very important to analyze your emotional state, Petukhova advised: for example, you began to cry more often or there were sudden dizziness, mood swings, no goals, meanings, not enough energy.
Along with this, the expert added that it is important to pay attention to the symptoms that are usually unusual for you, and to the state of health, especially when doctors cannot find the cause of the ailment.
She also noted that at risk are impressionable and suspicious people who have recently experienced stressful situations, such as divorce or separation from loved ones.
In addition, according to Petukhova, another signal may be a state when a person realizes that he is feeling bad, but at the same time does not understand why.
Or, for example, he may have a lot of negative thoughts, and, in his opinion, other people are to blame for all the problems – in such a situation it is also worth contacting a specialist, the RT interlocutor concluded.
