Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law granting the status of combat veterans to volunteers fighting in Ukraine.

Volunteers who are seriously injured may be given the status of “combat disabled”.

All Russian volunteers participating in hostilities starting from February 24, as well as members of formations created in the annexed territories of Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, from the moment of their “joining with Russia” fall under the law.

Combat veterans and combat invalids, as well as, in some cases, their family members in Russia are provided with benefits and social support measures.
