It was at the beginning of November that the influencer profile Margaux Dietz, 32, came under fire after she posted a video where she laughingly filmed a bloody man she found in her stairwell.
Margaux let her son poke the man, and for the video “funny music” had been chosen. Margaux’s clip immediately went viral, and comments poured in from disappointed followers.
Margaux Dietz lost several collaborations
Margaux lost several partners – including Stronger, Lumene, Mionetto, Revolution Race and Westfield Täby Centrum. The latter not only broke off their collaboration, but also demanded that all traces of their previous collaboration be purged. This as they do not want to be associated with Margaux Dietz.
Shortly after the scandal with the video, Margaux Dietz issued an apology.
“I understand the criticism, take it to heart and want to apologize unreservedly. I have a responsibility towards all my fellow human beings, followers and partners. I have failed in that responsibility,” Margaux wrote, among other things.
Since then, Margaux has laid low on social media. Her Instagram and Youtube haven’t been updated in weeks. No new collaborations have been posted either.
That’s how many followers Margaux Dietz has lost
Blog monitoring reported this weekend how the status looked for several well-known Swedish influencers when it comes to how many followers they have lost. Among those who have lost followers are among others Kenza, Alexandra Nilsson and Katrin Zytomierska. Those who have increased in number of followers are Bianca Ingrosso and Sandra Beijer.
But one influencer really stood out when it comes to the number of lost followers – namely Margaux Dietz.
After her heavily criticized video, Margaux Dietz has lost over 11,000 followers in a month, and in her comments section on Instagram, the mood is still fierce as several followers simply do not believe her apology.
Although it was several weeks ago that Margaux posted her apology, comments continue to pour in from disappointed followers.
Disappointed followers on Margaux Dietz’s Instagram
Some comments read:
“So it took several companies dumping you before you “realize and understand” your empathetic behavior. Worse afterthought construction has never been seen before”
“Not buying it. You did this and then spent a lot of time editing the footage and even then didn’t realize it was WRONG.”
“What a fucking piece of bullshit. You only cared about likes and exposure. You did it at the expense of another human being, you only regretted it when it started costing you.”
“My God what a pathetic retrofit.”
“Had I known that my future children had a person acting like this as a role model, I would have been so damn devastated. I sincerely hope you are ashamed and apologized to your son for what he saw. Damn.”
“What you write sounds pretty fake. Sounds like you hired a crisis manager who wrote an afterthought to save your “job”. I don’t think you understand anything at all other than that you lose business partners and lose income.”
