You are currently viewing FC Schalke 04: secret plan revealed – is it a curse or a blessing for the future?

After the defeat against FC Bayern Munich on the last Bundesliga weekend, FC Schalke 04 ended their first half of the season in last place in the table.

So that the promoted team does not have to go back to the second division in a few months, the S04 managers want to sign new players in winter. Now it has become known according to which plan FC Schalke 04 intends to commit the rescuers in the relegation battle.

FC Schalke 04: This is S04’s transfer plan

The “kicker” has now published what the Royal Blues’ transfer plan looks like. The club, threatened with relegation, is therefore not looking for “immediate aid, but loan players for whom a purchase option can be agreed”. That means: Schalke don’t want to sign any players in winter, just loan them out. As a result, those responsible for S04 are currently looking for a central defender and two fast wingers.

Peter Knäbel recently announced something similar when he said that the club is particularly interested in loan deals in winter. The transfer model is not surprising given the Royal Blues’ current financial situation. However, it raises questions as to whether the strategy of establishing oneself in the Bundesliga with loan models is really sustainable. This is especially so because, according to “Bild”, the club already lacks the money to sign the current loan players.

FC Schalke 04: Loan departures possible

According to the sports magazine, it is also conceivable that the Gelsenkirchen team will loan out their own professionals in winter. The potential candidates would be Kerim Calhanoglu and Jordan Larsson. Both players could therefore leave the club in winter to get match practice and get back into shape at another club.

In the Bundesliga, the Royal Blues continue with the away game against Eintracht Frankfurt. Then follows a home game against RB Leipzig. If everything goes according to plan at Schalke, these games would be played with a few new loan players.
