Black Friday has begun, and with it came a flurry of promotions on computer hardware of all kinds. If you are looking to replace your laptop, many online merchants offer attractive discounts on machines of all kinds. The ZDNet editorial team, in collaboration with Les Numériques, has selected the 5 best machines still on sale this Monday, November 21.

The 15-inch Galaxy Book2 Pro at €1,099

Samsung laptops have long snubbed the French market, but the Korean manufacturer has returned to France with its 15-inch Galaxy Book2 Pro, which is currently on sale at 1,099 euros at Boulanger, compared to 1,599 euros usually.

Equipped with an Intel Core i7 (1260P) processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, the Samsung PC will delight power enthusiasts who need a large screen for photo/video editing, software development or other demanding tasks. With its impeccably calibrated 15.6-inch Oled panel, its solid autonomy and its featherweight, it will be a strong ally for those looking to acquire a new laptop PC.

Only small weak point, the definition of the screen is limited to Full HD, and the SSD could have displayed better performance.

The HP Pavilion 15 at €591.99

For those who don’t want to go broke buying a new laptop, GrosBill has an interesting offer. The retailer offers the HP Pavilion 15 (EH1014NF) for less than 600 euros.

The HP machine is ideal for students looking for a laptop that can keep up with them during their workdays. The autonomy of the machine is quite correct thanks to the meager consumption of the Ryzen 5 5500U processor, and the 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage should be sufficient for daily use that is not too greedy. The fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 6 compatibility and the quality of the keyboard will make it an effective accessory for modest needs.

We would have said that we liked to see a slightly better calibrated screen and a better built chassis.

The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED at 999 €

If you are looking for a more compact PC than the two previous models, perhaps the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED could convince you. Its reduction to 999 euros at Boulanger (against 1,299 euros at launch) also makes it an interesting deal.

Intel Core i7-1260P processor, 16 GB of RAM, 14-inch OLED screen, Wi-Fi 6E compatibility, 512 GB of storage… the Asus PC has a good package of technical qualities for anyone looking for a compact PC, powerful and efficient. Little more, it also embeds a touchpad capable of transforming into a numeric keypad. Not to spoil anything, the autonomy is good and the connectors provided.

Be careful though, the quality of the webcam clearly leaves something to be desired.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 513 at 299 €

If you really want to save money and don’t mind working on ChromeOS, then Boulanger has a great deal for you. The retailer offers the Acer Chromebook Spin 513 at 299 euros (against 429 euros at launch).

The machine is obviously not a beast of power, but the Google OS does not need it anyway, most of the tasks being done in the cloud. The Acer PC prefers the big GHz for excellent autonomy, a quality screen and good finishes.

It should still be noted that the ergonomics of the keyboard is not excellent and that the brightness of the screen is a little low.

The Honor MagicBook 14 at €979

Honor doesn’t just make phones. The Chinese manufacturer also lists a few laptops in its catalog. One of them is the MagicBook 14, which Amazon offers at 979 euros (against a strikethrough price of 1,299 euros).

It is specifically the version with Core i5, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of memory that is sold off during this Black Friday. A variation that should suffice for most everyday uses, unless you need an abundance of power. The computer arrives with an Nvidia RTX 2050 graphics card, a 135 watt charger and a weight on the scale of 1.58 kg. Add to that a well-calibrated slab and good autonomy and you get a solid machine for less than 1,000 euros.

In the radius of the weak points, let us mention all the same a very shiny panel and quick to reflect and a webcam limited to 720 pixels.
